FreeCell

The classic full-information solitaire. All 52 cards deal face up into eight columns — there’s no hidden stock pile to draw from, so every decision is visible from the very first move. Four free cells hold one card apiece as temporary storage, and unlike Klondike, any card can open an empty column. Build descending, alternating-color runs on the tableau and send every card up to its foundation, Ace through King by suit, to clear the board. Because nothing is hidden, nearly every deal can be solved with the right sequence of moves.

How to Play FreeCell

Tap a face-up card (or a valid descending, alternating-color run) to select it, then tap a column, free cell, or foundation to move it there. Double-tap a card to send it straight to its foundation when it's ready. Tap a selected card again to deselect.

  • Empty free cells and empty columns are your only tools for shuffling long runs — spend them early and you'll box yourself in for the rest of the game.
  • Unlike Klondike, any card can start an empty column here, not just a King — but treat an empty column as precious anyway, since each one doubles how many cards you can move at once.
  • Don't rush every playable card to a foundation the moment it's free — a low card left on the tableau can still be useful for receiving a bigger card in a run.
